In the spring of 2015, at the urging of the Holy Spirit, family and friends, Pastor Jesse Morales of Tabernacle of Faith and Pastor Sam Spatafore of Tree of Life began to meet to discuss ministry and the goodness of God. Soon, God had knit their hearts together. They recognized the similarities in ministry and in their personal testimonies. They also recognized that God was uniting them. 

 

On September 6th, 2015, Tabernacle of Faith and Tree of Life held their first joint meeting at the Tree of Life facility.  From there, they held combined Prayer Meetings, Bible Studies, Men’s Meetings, Women’s Meetings and Children's ministries. It soon became evident that God was putting the two churches together to better serve Him and the community.

 

 As a result, the pastors began to discuss a possible merger. On September 4th, 2016 after presenting the idea to their church leadership and the two congregations, both churches voted on approving the merger to become Thames River Church.  The inauguration of Thames River Church took place on January 1st, 2017.
